Evelyn V. Benitez
Evelyn is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants and one of the first in her family to attend college. A graduate of the Urban Assembly for Green Careers, Evelyn is now a freshman at Marist College where she is pursuing her dreams of becoming a veterinarian and opening an animal rescue center in the Bronx. Born and raised in the Bronx, Evelyn's mission in life is to make a difference in her community by being a role model to other young Latinas:
“I want to prove to the world that although Latina women from the Bronx may be a marginalized group, we can still achieve anything we put our minds to"
